Privacy Policy

Your privacy is incredibly important to us. This page lays out what little information we collect and how we keep it safe.

1. We Do Not Store Your Files

We do not save or hold onto any of your uploaded files. Most of our tools process your documents directly inside your web browser on your own computer, so your files never upload to the internet. Five of our tools do require server processing to function properly: Compress PDF, PDF to Word, Word to PDF, PDF to PowerPoint, and PowerPoint to PDF. These tools send files to our secure server for processing, and your files are permanently deleted immediately after you download your result. PDF to Word, Word to PDF, and PDF to PowerPoint are converted by Adobe PDF Services (or ComPDF as a backup); we delete the file from their servers right after the conversion. All other tools run entirely in your browser and your file never leaves your device.

2. Our Processing Server

When you use one of the five server-assisted tools, your file travels over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our processing server, hosted by Render. It is held only in memory or a temporary folder for the few seconds processing takes, and deleted as soon as your result is sent back. Adobe PDF Services (and ComPDF, only if Adobe's monthly capacity is reached) receive the file solely to perform the conversion, and we delete it from their storage right after. To keep the free service fair and protect it from abuse, the server keeps your IP address in memory for up to one day to apply hourly and daily usage limits; it is never written to disk, logged, or shared.

3. Accounts, Newsletter and Contact Messages

Creating an account is optional. If you sign up, your name and email address are stored with our authentication provider, Supabase, so you can sign in. If you subscribe to our newsletter or send us a message through the contact form, we store the details you provide there so we can reply; contact messages are also delivered to our inbox through the FormSubmit email service. Your documents are never linked to your account; the list of recent files shown in your workspace is kept only in your own browser. To have your data deleted, email us at the address below.

4. Cookies and Browser Storage

FoldPDF does not use cookies. To make the site work, your browser keeps a few small items on your own device, and they never leave it:

• your dark or light mode choice;
• the list of recent files shown in your workspace (file names only);
• your login session, only if you sign in.

You can clear these at any time in your browser settings. Our fonts are served from our own website, so loading a page does not contact Google or any other font service.

5. Analytics and Advertising

We count page visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies. It recognises a visit only through a temporary code that is discarded after 24 hours, and we see anonymous totals only. We do not currently show advertisements. If we start showing ads (for example through Google AdSense), we will ask for your permission before any advertising cookies are used, and you will be able to change your choice at any time.
